Roanoke River State Trail

The Roanoke River was authorized to be the Roanoke River State Trail November 15, 2021.  We are working with NC State Trails to further our five-year plan that can be reviewed on the NC State Trails website.

Reservations can be made at primitive campsites along the river.  All of the campsites can be accessed by the water. Some of the campsites can also be accessed by vehicle.  Be sure to explore our communities along the river for activities in the region.  We are exploring ways to share other regional trail information.
