Observe the beautiful Roanoke River where kayakers enjoy the rapids and
fishermen come from all over the world to catch striped bass, locally
known as "Rockfish."
In our Historic Business District, you will experience the rebirth of
several historical buildings. Visit The Riverside Mill
that is housed in
the Historic Carolina Cotton Mill and shop for unique Antiques Roadshow
Treasures, handmade Carolina products, QVC clothing, peanuts and local
honey in a glorious setting. It is the largest Gallery of Craft Arts
along Interstate-95.
Shop at the Farmers Exchange
on Washington Ave and buy some 'hoop
cheese' or garden seeds that are still being sold out of glass jars. You
can see what a store looked like a century ago with antiques that line
shelves from the floor to the ceiling; some for sale, others a private
collection for you to enjoy.

Ralph's Barbecue, located on Hwy. 158 at Exit 173, is well known to
travelers from all over the USA. Frazier's, located next to Ralph's, is
known for their tasty, tender beef-tips and home-cooked meals. Both of
these restaurants have been operating since the 1940's.
The Waffle House
is located at 1617 Julia Allsbrook Hwy. In Historic Weldon's Business
District, Jermonico's, located at 15 W. 3rd. St., is open for lunch
Tuesday through Saturday. You can enjoy a wide variety of sandwiches,
wraps, salads, salmon, tilapia, hamburgers and chicken wings.

Sycamore Rockfish Bar & Grill
is located at 51 Sycamore Street. The menu
features appetizers, rockfish, steaks, hamburgers, etc. Outside patio
seating is available.
